Parents' Weekends The spring 2008 parents’ weekend was another very successful weekend. We started things off in Blue Springs at the Community of Christ Church and had Hy-Vee cater a lunch. We also began a silent auction to help pay for the weekend and make some money for the house. Many of the parents brought items to add to the auction. We had embroidered clothes, BBQ sets and cameras donated among other things. After lunch everyone went to check out the new Bass Pro Shop nearby which had opened just a few weeks prior to this event. After a fishing demonstration and some shopping every met at El Maguey’s restaurant for dinner. The next day we finished the silent auction at the Beta house during the goodbye lunch.
The Fall 2007 Parents' weekend was a huge success. It was held this year on October 6-7. We had over 20 familes attend, some coming all the way from California to visit. Saturday we had lunch at the house before going to Dave & Busters. That night we all met at Arthur Bryant's for a sit down dinner, and on Sunday we cheered on the chiefs to a win back at the Beta house. Thanks to Tyler Kenney for planning this fun weekend and thanks to all the parents who showed up, we appreciate all your support!
